I have been asked about the equipment I use for my photography and if it differs much between my portrait and my Wedding photography.  I think it can be comforting to knowing your photographer has the photographic equipment needed for your day, whatever the event and where ever it may be.

I have created a brief photography gear list of the most common items most likely to be found in my camera bag, the list is never complete but it does give you a good idea of what I may have hidden under my hat.

Nikon D3 Camera BodyCameras

  • The Nikon D3 is my primary still camera. 12mp, 9FPS, terrific ISO performance and built to keep going. The D3 is one of the truly great cameras in the world, whether you do location, landscape or Wedding photography.
  • The Nikon D300s is incredibly versatile for a smaller framed professional camera. With a DX sensor its 12 megapixels, 8FPS and shoots Video.

Tamron 28-75mm f2.8Lenses

  • The 24mm 2.8 is an incredible wide angle lens with greta optics and speed. Shooting in low light or after shallow depth of field, this lens excels.
  • The Tamron 28-75 2.8 is my most used lens. Fast, crisp, reliable and smack bang the middle of the zoom range. If I had only one lens, this would be the one.
  • The Nikon 50mm 1.8 is the best deal amongst the Nikon lenses. It’s fast, sharp and very compact and goes for less than you might think.
  • The Tokina 80-200mm 2.8 lens is crisp, quick and shooting in low light is no bother.
  • The Nikon 70-210mm 4.0 lens is crisp is a beautiful lens for macro photography.

Camera_Gear-Dewan_Demmer_Photography-1001-2Other and Off Camera

  • The Nikon SB-700 Speedlight is my go to light for smaller subject matter, filling in the dark areas, or used as a light source in multi-light studio environments.
  • The yongnuo yn-560 Speedlight is my go to off camera light, used as a light source in multi-light studio environments.
  • The yongnuo yn-468 Speedlight is my backup lightweight light, as a backupused and as a light source in multi-light studio environments.
  • Lexar Compact Flash Cards are my best since they’re fast, reliable and tough. That is why I love my Lexar 16GB Premium Series .
  • Patriot SD Cards are my best for pretty much the same reason as the Compact Flash Cards.
  • The Phottix Strato Transceiver/Receiver is a triggering system for my camera or off-camera lighting. It keeps pace with my cameras and is preferable to triggering with a sync cable due to the convenience of cordless.
